El Comercio
of Quito (founded in 1906) and El Universo of Guayaquil (founded
in 1921) are considered the most important newspapers of Ecuador
both are measured with the information they publish and for opening
themselves to the public opinion.

that are published in Quito are: Hoy, El Tiempo and Ultimas Noticias;
in Guayaquil: Expreso, La Prensa, El Telégrafo; in Cuenca:
El Mercurio.
The magazine
with more prestige is Vistazo founded in 1957. This important
magazine edited in Guayaquil, gives you detailed information about
politics, social and cultural events of Ecuador.
